A70 Fusebox Relocation

I'm looking at relocating my fuse box to make way for an intercooler pipe through the battery tray area. Where have people relocated their fuse box to, either elsewhere in the car or in the engine bay. How involved was it from a wiring aspect.

I've got no cruise or AC. Wiring will come out of the hole that the cruise wires comes out of now. Head light wiring need to be extened from the relay at the fuse box. Rest is hopefully an easy cut and shut.

Thats an interesting spot, I never really thought of putting it there
I have no AC or cruise either however in the process of painting the engine bay and filling in all the excess holes, the cruise control mounting tab which you mounted your fuse box to was removed :-(

to be honest the cruise mount is a pain in the ass, it's at a stupid angle. It'd be a whole lot easier to drill two holes in the side wall and bolt a straight angle bracket. Can have it a bit lower then as well.

Great to see you still have the moneypit / garage ornament Mr T!

If you're going to the trouble, the best thing to do is put it under the dash or under a guard - otherwise old mate's suggestion is actually quite neat.

Hi Leigh, I do indeed still have the moneypit / garage ornament, though these days it not much of an ornament as its been in pieces since September 2008 ....

I think I will end up mounting it in the inner fender near the original location as it is now



but flipped 180 degrees like below as it works out a neater fit



I'm trying to clean the engine bay up as much as possible. Inside the car could be an option, I need to figure out how much hassle is involved from a wiring perspective

I was thinking around the glovebox are, if I had to undo 3 screws and remove the plastic trim under the glovebox to get to the fuses that wouldn't be so bad.
Think I'll stick with it in the engine bay, or if it really gets to me I'll get a MoTeC PDM

Im not doing it in a JZA70 but a JZX81.

i have decided to either glovebox mount it. or behind passenger front seat. ( no back seats rollcage fitted and battery is located there)
