What type of ethanol fuel are you talking about? Regulary pump varieties of 5-10% or something more?
I believe that a regular ecu should adjust itself well to standard ethanol enhanced fuels. Most modern cars are made with the capability. Think of it in terms of going from regular unleaded to a premium. The ecu, through the oxygen, afm/map, knock sensors will adjust the amount of fuel at different levels of throtle usage.
True, ethanol has an affinity for water and hence carries more oxygen than regular fuel, but the ecu should be able to compensate for this. As an extreme example there are flexi fuel cars which can run on up to 85% ethanol, such as the Saab.
In short, your ecu should adjust your mix to run a little bit richer. There's plenty of info about ethanol fuel on the net.
Chris.
