    Default KE15 wheels

    Hi,
    I have just purchased a ke15.
It needs new tyres and I was thinking of upgrading from the 12" wheel to the 13".
What rim and tyre size would I be looking for?
Where would I get them from?
I love the look of whitewalls but I think they would be out of my price range, am I wrong?
I was thinking of sticking with steelies but I'm not too sure.
It has ke20 hubs on the front with discs, not too sure what mm.
    A little help?

i used Mazda 808 rims (13"), but other older mazdas might fit. i think RX7 alloys have a bit much offset, but you can check.

13", and 165 or 175/60 might be a good start.. 175/50 might be closer in diameter tho.
    stock is 155r12
get rims from wrecker, get tyres from tyre shop
you can get tyres whitewalled. lots of the grannies in adelaide get it done

you can get alloys, probably cheaply.. look for mazda items. check they fit with offset first.
    stud pattern is 4x110mm

for the discs, is it 10 or 12.5mm thick? 200 or 218mm diameter?

The oldest ke's are 4x110 PCD same as some early mazdas so they are a good source of 13" 4x110 wheels.

Get rims second hand or from a wrecker and tyres from a tyre shop

The KE20 discs on the front are better than drums but not that great, very small disc and pad.

No idea on the price of whitewalls, check the yellow pages and call someone who does whitewalling.

EDIT: OC beat me to it

If you wanted 15s then there are mazda vans with 4x110 pattern, i ran some widened ones on my rx7.. no idea if offset is usable though

When i had a KE10 i tried to put 1975 mazda 929/rx4 wheels on - didn't fit. '74 or earlier mazda ones did though. early 4 cyl cortina/escort will fit as well, main problem is offset near the front struts.

really the cortina/escort will fit as well are they the same pattern or just very very close? ive redrilled the centres before to fit rims on other cars, had some fat 14' on my wagon once, came of a old 1950/60's austin lancer

Thanks a heap guys, great advice. Now I know what I have to look out for. I've been laid up sick the last couple of days, looking forward to hitting up some of the local wreckers.
I may have a few more questions about the brakes, I have to get out there and do some measuring. Is it very hard to change the rear brakes over to disc as well? What discs should I be hunting? I had heard of putting ke30 and ke50 brakes on. Anyway I'll look at one job at a time I guess.
You might see a few more posts from me in the future, as I'm having to teach myself everything, no-one around in my circles with much car knowledge.
Thanks again, I'll let you know how I get on, and give you the measurements of the brakes that are on my machine of pride
