Spark Plug Gap 20v

Ive searched a fair bit through this forum and others aswell as google as to what the bgb specifies as the correct spark plug gap for a silvertop 20v mostly to no avail. Im also interested in what other people might be using for their plug gap?

Ive read that the 4age and gze use a 1.1mm or .0043 gap altho they use a different spark plug each.

Ive also read of people running .8mm gaps on fairly stock (save for aftermarket ecu) blacktop 20v's...

also what is the process for setting the timing i assume you jump 2 of the terminals in the diagnostic plug then set it to 10bdc at X rpm...?

should also mention plugs are currently iridiums unknown heat range

0.8mm for me. Factory specs are 1.1mm as designated by the PK20R11 stock plugs

I've tried both 1.1mm and 0.8mm and the .8 definitely runs better in my 20V BT at high rpm on the track.

As for setting the timing, jump TE1 and E1. Then set to around 10 degree BTDC with the timing light. Just do it at idle speed

0.8 seems to be a good thing for many engines, but with high power ignition, you could get away with more gap...
iridium/platinums have more access to spark so supposedly work better (says NGK etc), but spark length is still important...
go 0.8's..

is there anything wrong with the current ones? how old?

Apparently the stock plug for a 20V is BKR6EP-11 (NGK) which is a 1.1mm plug gap. I have used the Iridium IX equivalent plug (BKR6EIX-11) with no ignition problems.

ahhh its for a friends car they seemd to be gapped at 1.1 but i thought that was wide so hence the double checking as i couldnt find anything to confirm that was the correct gap when i searched anyways i checked them and gapped em all to 1.1

nahh shouldnt be anything wrong with the current ones i believe they are fairly new and should last a while i pulled them out they looked fine.

im helping him change the oil and what not for dyno day so i suggested we check the plug gaps and the timing so that its running as well as it can
