It is October and almost 9 months after joining the Toymods Forum

I now have my short term dream - a 20V Tazz

It has been a long last 3 months as the motor got changed and struggled to get all the little bits and pieces

But I think we have a winner here

It is completed and need to go another 500km to finnish the 1000km run in period

Then it is back to the Dynamometer to get it propperly mapped

Here is some pics of the completed car

A lot of thanks for the help of my boss and the use of his Car Workshop

"Thanks Goch & Cooper - it has been a long but worthy convertion"

Here are some pics of the completed machine

a bit dirty and full of dust - but it will be spotless on the weekend

Big shout out to all your toy modders

I hope you have just as much joy on your rides as I have on mine!!!

    Regards

Are you sure???! Wow, i figure you've had it on a weighbridge but f*^k, does that match what the vehicle mass is listed in the handbook or something, that sounds waaay to heavy. I haven't weighed mine but i'm sure it was listed as 1050kg, or 1080kg??

That's like supra weight isn't it - 1500kgs? I don't see how there could be possibly be 400kgs extra packed into your car than mine. Sorry to blow up a bit, it's good to hear you've got it finished and are enjoying and running it in.

Sorry man - I must be crazy

I looked at the GVM and added all the weight differences between the 2 engines and all the extra's

I also forgot to subtract the weight of the original parts and take the difference

The licencing mass of the Vehicle is 944kg's

plus +-76kg for all the differences of other extra's

    New mags and tyres
    new 57mm stainless exhaust
New fuel tank with fuel pump
    New 8mm Fuel lines
    Modified Aircon Bracket
    Difference in Engine mountings
New Ventilated disks and new Calipers

    So should be arround 1020kg's

    My appologies

Dammit, now i'm annoyed cause it started 100+kgs less than mine... Although mine probably hasn't gained ~80kgs; brakes are heavier, wheels+tyres are lighter, engine's probably a bit heavier, exhaust... minor differences in bigger swaybars and oil cooler... and that's about it.

Edit: Was there really that much difference in your engine mounts??

havent read everything in here, but yeah engine mounts will be different between the 1.3 and the 1.6 models. if you are wanting to put a 1.6 in there the drivers side mount needs to be chopped out and the 1.6 one welded in. iirc.

That spoiler is the same as the nz and jdm fxgts and gti-16s

weight should be around the 1000kg mark

When I take her for the engine clearence - they will prob weigh the car as well

Hope it does not have to go through the whole roadworthy process - that would really

Will keep you posted - I'm thinking in the 1050KG mark but will see when it comes from the weighbridge

I must say she goes well

These old dials have to go - it really suck to have the needle stuck past the 180km/h mark

I will change them as soon as I have the $$$

My one friend also started his convertion but he went for the 4AEGZE engine with coilpack

What is nice about his one is that it is RWD

She is also going for the propper mapping of the management system hopefully on Thursday

    Whish me luck
    Cheers
