    Default oil leaks, REAR of 1g....not rear main....? help....

    hey guys,
    doing the clutch,
    pulled the box off the celica last night knowing i had a leak in behind the flywheel,

    got the fly off, and the rear main is SPOTLESS, but there is still fresh oil being sprayed around by the fly,

    there's a allen key nut behind the flex plate, which is tight, whats behind that? oil galery?

    cante see where the oils coming from, no trace marks,....

    I once left that allen key nut out yes it's an oil gallery haha.. found that out the hard way.

    Is it gearbox oil possibly?

    Are you sure it's not the seal on the gearbox?

    Hey pal,when i massaged my sump to clear steering link i think i may have buckled it and had similar problem.

    nah its not box oil, smells like engine oil,

    i might pull the allen bolt out and a bit of thread tape round it,

    Nah you didnt read my reply right,i meant the rear of the sump had warped slightly and engine oil seeped/flowed out on to everything.

    yeah sounds possible ..... if sump oil gets past the dust shield itll get flywheel sprayed.

    surely there has to be a trail.

    well work mate recons it could be the rear crank plate gasket...got it off, and will slaz it up n throw it back it, with a rear main seal aswell,

    hopefully that will stop the leak,
