dont think so, ill chek. edit: no exhaust is fine.
Blame the air pump, it's always the air pump![]()
crank pulley or something attached to it.
loose intake piping
Try to narrow this down a bit for us.
1/ is it the engine vibrating? place your hand on it when you bring the revs up.
2/ is it a vibration sound only? ie: something attached to the engine thats loose.
Answers to these question might help zero in on the problem.

ok havnt done the hand on engine thing yet but i do have this... i can feel it vibrate under my seat when free revving, its a harmonic vibration so it goes "vvvrrrrr....vvvvrrrrr....vvrrrrrr...vvvrrrrrr " not just "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". hand it seems to get faster when revved higher, itake pipes are all on fine.
and its not a rattle like sumthing is loose, it feels like its deep in the engine or gear box.
Keep it under 3 grand?

Not being a professional mechanic. So please don't quote me, just throwing out ideas.
Could be "crankshalf" related ie: main or big-end bearing.
If it's manual, free revving is this done with the clutch in or out?
If it's in then your gearbox is stationary.
If it's out then the input shaft will be spinning with the engine. Therefore could be gearbox related.

I had the exact same thing happen when I bent the pressure plate in my Supra, knocking it slightly out of balance. If there's nothing obvious happening externally this is where I'd be looking.
This is assuming it's manual of course, you didn't specify.
PS does this belong in the conversions section?![]()

me thinks there's a pulley problem.. can't say for sure what's on the belts in front but it could be alternator, aircon, tensioner bearing etc etc that can cause this ..
