Pre 19xx cars have no tinting limits I thought ?

I agree with you though, get it fixed. MUCH easier.

Tinting limits apply to all cars, regardless of age, aside from those with factory tinting which is darker. The total light transmissivity of a window by means of a combination of factory tinting and aftermarket film must meet a minimum.

the wire could be burnt out or the fuse blown that would be a good place to start, the clip that joins the wire to the bars may be damaged/not contacting..

I think you would check all of that before doing the hardest thing first.

for some people i highly doubt it, alot of people jump in no lube and dont have a think about the simple things....

its not a very complex thing, nothing to serious could go wrong with it.

ha ha so true. But for some reason if you follow along the bars they break/corrode and then you end up wth only a couple of lines working.

No chance of fixing this one, it was stuffed way before i got to it and doesn't even have the connections on the window.

No tinting limit for rear window with 2 external mirrors & i wasn't it a bit darker than what it was so when i leave the car places you cant see whats in the back.

yes but you want to be able to see out that windscreeen, no point in looking cool when you cant use your rear vision mirror. and dark tint is a pain in the arse at night time.

BeRad is on the money there. You can buy a rear demister repair kit, which you paint on where the breakages/corrosion in the lines are. All they are is a low value resistor. When current runs through them, they heat up and transfer that heat to the rear windscreen (can cause damage to cheap tinting film, pretty sure good stuff is ok tho).

The wires that arent even connected bmak are probably tucked behind your C-pillar trims. The circuit contains:
    ignition barrel-wire-fuse-wire-switch-wire-demister (+) connection-demister lines-demister (-) connection-wire-screw to ground.

nothing to it, and not hard to fix.

well i bet knowone know where to get the demister lines put onto the glass like the factory one is , on the old toyotas all the lines have eroded away and dont work . there is someone that does it as the bathurst or simmiler race cars have it on the front glass . anybody know.

The wires are there and tucked under the trim but there are no terminals left on the glass & i think the conductive layer of the demister is well gone from previous tint removals.

I'm going to try some acid tomorrow & will let you know how i go.
