I saw that as well, funny stuff. It's like the 1JZGTTEs that Rolin sell

Why is the 1UZ-GE an interesting find? Is it some sort of rare or uncommon engine to be sold?

Because they don't exist - the engine is a 1UZFE.

    F designates an economy-targeted valve layout, G designates a performance-oriented layout.

Ahhh makes sense, why would they advertise such an engine then if it doens't exist?

Well (a) they don't know what they're talking about, or (b) they're trying to mislead/rip off customers by making them think they're buying something different to the commonly available 1UZFE.

Either way it's not a good advertisement for the company.

Whilst you're saving, Might be worth looking out for a cheap, rooted RT142 corona. Manual form preffered...

This way you could get the gearbox, pedals, clutch hydraulics, cluster, efi fuel tank, crossmember, and even the option of using a disk brake irs rear??

You'd also have a bucketload of spare bits and pieces you might need for the conversion. A lot cheaper than buying all the extras piece by piece.

    Just my 2c
    Cheers

Cheers for the advice, sounds like a good idea, saving me moeny in the long term. Ive started to take apart the engine today, it seems that it might not be as bad as first thought. There is probably water in the cylinders but it is definetely not chaos in there!

So far the cost for me.

RT142 Corona, good condish, engine thumbs up, little smokey $450
Engine with loom and ECU $500
    1G bellhousing $200
Clutch, flywheel and other bits a pieces $600
    GA70 Supra radiator and 2 x 10' thermo fans $200
Plus other shit including brakes, intercooler, gauges etc.

I pulled the old motor out with some with help from friends (also helped fit the 1G), used my old gearbox (just changed bellhousings), made my own engine mounts and all the other shit to make it fit. Still some work to be done to complete it but I'm too lazy

The engine in that list for $500 is the 1G. I have contacts so I got it cheap.

Yeah, you'll save alot of cash if you do most of the work yourself.
