You can't trust the info in magazines though.. We all know that they often cock up the technical details, they're journalists not mechanics.

When it boils down to it, you can do whatever you want with enough fabrication work, so seeing what other people have used isn't necessarily useful, because you don't know what they did to get them on there. (In the case of my old car, cut and shut lower control arms, bad.)

What i've spent alot of time working out is what i can use without changing lower control arms or steering arms - because i didn't want to arse around with the steering, its way over my head to put it simply.

There is a kingpin angle difference of 1 degree positive with the R31 strut. That is, its 10 deg instead of the stock 9. I'm not too worried because its not drastic, and i have camber plates.

ed: A variety of datsun / early nissan struts will also fit, but i didn't bother looking - the R31 strut seems the most versatile option, with a range of brake sizes being adaptable.

    I did this on a KE25:

HiLux 4 spot brakes on Corona struts and Peugeot disks.

Struts were shortened with Camry or similar inserts, and converted to coilover with Noltech strut tops. Sigma lower control arms (similar length to KE25), and Celica steering knuckles. But the Celica steering knuckles are too long really, and I am going to heavily modify and machine the KE25 steering knuckles to fit as they are shorter and the right length.

Use a HiLux 1" master cylinder on the firewall in normal spot with a addapter I made. We will use a VH44 remote booster for the front brakes only. I'm not sure how it will work yet, car not going.

Have Celica rear end with stock Celica drum brakes.

Have you got a pic of the master cylinder setup? This is one thing i still haven't tackled, i have both a vh40 and vh44 for fronts and rears respectively. Trying to avoid modding pedal box

I will put a image here soon if I can. I put the clutch master cylinder to the right of the brake.

I have some 4 pot calipers I believe were off a hilux as they look identical but they have two small pistons and two larger pistons.

Only other thing worth factoring in is that on a light car, you want to keep the weight of your brakes down, and a hilux caliper is justabout as heavy as an entire ke20

    Do they look like this:

If so then they are early model Hilux calipers. And use RX7 pads.
See this thread for more details.

Some Landcruiser brakes have the different size pistons. With LN106 and similar HiLux they are all the same piston size.

The HiLux 4WD brakes from LN106 and similar onwards till the RZN167 I think it is use a 20mm thick disk, and all the pistons are the same size. Except the VZN130 Surf which uses a similar caliper but they have a thicker disk. The early 70 series Landcruisers also use a little 20mm disk (I get these to fade if the truck is loaded up), but I think these Landcruiser have the stagered size pistons. Later model 70 Series and all 80, 90 and 100 series Landcruiser use bigger brakes, and they are all iron.

The HiLux 4wd from the early 80s had the non vented disks i think. I have a feeling they are also smaller in overall size.

If anyone knows a master cylinder of 15/15" or 1" bore that will bolt up in place of the stock one that would be fantastic..

i think there is a datto one of one of the Z car that might? ill ask me bro he has started to play with a hell of a lot of dif brake set ups on his 1200, at the moment it has 200b strut, with magna disks that we redrilled to fit, and FJ60 landcrusier 4 pot calipers, works a treat, just that the 4 pots are heavy.

and dis might be dumb? but are the front ends of a ke20 and ke25 the same?
