Default 1GGTE ISCV...can i just fit a breather filter to it?

    hey guys,

the idle speed control valve had a hose that ran from it over to the intake piping, behind the air filter....

now that all of that has been removed,....

can i just fit a breather filter to it?

    cheers

theoretically no, the purpose of the iscv is to control idle based on the airflow coming through the throttle body and it obviously gets the pressure from the intake after the air filter, and more importantly after the AFM! that pressure goes into the ISCV and tells it what to idle at.. its pressure dependent, so if you put a filter on it with nothing creating pressure into that valve, its going to idle like crap if at all...

Does your ECU use an airflow meter or a MAP sensor?

If MAP sensor, the answer is yes, you can just put a filter on it. If it runs an airflow meter then you should ensure all the air that the engine ingests comes through the AFM.
