4AGZE 101 Knock Sensors Issues

Does anybody know of a way of getting around the Knock sensor when using a factory computer setup.?

What do you mean by getting around them?

replace it with a new one, run 100ron fuel, and set the base timing to 10deg.

What i mean by getting around it, is tricking it to thick that it is working properly.

The reason is as you turbo these in which case mine is they sensse alot more problems and therefor think there is a problem .

I always run premium fuel also.

Any other ideas ??

If you install a fibre washer under it the vibrations should be damped a bit...

Find out somehow what resistance it needs when not pinging and replace sensor with resistor and then earth. You should be able to use a multimeter on the wire when running under pefect conditions.

This is only by thought, i have never tried this/nor am i an auto elecy.

I doubt the knock sensor goes to earth, prob through a resistor n back to the ecu

i know many many ppl using them with no issues.....
maybe some more tuning is needed?

unscrew it and tape it to the loom??

my 4agte has worked fine with the factory knock sensor since 2002.

Well it would make sense that its screwed into the block so it would utilise that connection to earth. Just like every other sensor.

Not all sensors need an earth
