Nope, i had a blocked oil cooler along with an overheating motor. as soon as i took the oil cooler off i gained 15psi in oil psi but the dammage had been done. the sump and sump baffle's, head, oil feeds and returns have all been done to cope with the different angle's of rwd. Plus i was running 23psi on a motor that has done well over 60,000kms, and having too much fun in the rain on friday. Ohh so much fun drifting the kink at mallala in 4th.Originally Posted by takai

There is a method in the madness
Adelaide Jap don't import much of anything it seems as anything I've ever wanted hasn't been "high demand enough". If they actually SOLD those items there might be people to buy them!

just one thing, didnt see it mentioned but the auto versions of these engines are different.
in the case of the altezza, the head is different aswell as the valves.
i havnt researched the celicas/sw20 versions as much but they also appear to have the same differences.
basicly, the manual version is better

Good info though, definitely worth getting a real manual and not converting an auto then.

the heads are definitely different between red and black BEAMS that's for sure

Yeah there is a difference b/t the red and black top engines, as far as i know the redtop is prettey much a gen 3 (st205) with intake vvti and higher compression running the manual ecu giving 200ps.
The caldina black top is i guess a gen 4 (st215)with a different head design than redtop, intake vvti and the same compression as redtop with the auto ecu giving 190ps and 180ps in the rav 4 i think. I have also heard that the block is also slightly different but i cant be sure.
The caldina turbo 191kw is the st215 head with no vvti and gen 3 block and some other turbo and intake changes from a gen3 turbo.
Im not too sure about the altezza sxe10 but i think its simular to the st215 head with dual vvti and and a higher compression again abviously in a rwd config and block might be slightly different. 210ps.
I think mr Glen ra45 will know for sure.
Strat, if you're still chasing a 3SGTE, I have a couple.
I have sent you a PM with details
yeah i was suprised tooOriginally Posted by mtp_69_i
