Autometer A/f Guage Fix!!!!!!!

for those out there who are lucky enuff with one of these babys , aint happy as the band is pretty wide IE , instead of one light to the next it has a band of about 4-5 lights moving back and forth.....

Why this happens:
It is caused by the inferference between the earth for the guage that gives it its ground/0V
reference, these guages have a range of 0-1V , add the interference with that and u get noise in the reading.


FIX:
to fix this is quite simple , the trick is to earth the guage at the sensor earth to eliminate the difference between the output and gound..

My gauge has improved 100% and is heaps better to look , and guide ( a rough guide , never rely on it for tuning porpose)

Interesting.
I've got one of these and have never had the bounce back and forth phenomenon. As the car warms up..it makes its way slowly to the Stoich area..and stays there...only time it goes shooting up to Rich is when there is moderate acceleration. So mine seems to be doing its job perfectly. It's helped me trouble shoot some problems in the past and it's an awesome little guage.

i was discouraged from having one for the purpose of tuning, but yeh they're very nifty things to have .. i use it as an indication, if my car is running ubber rich or the dangerous uber lean.. never had any problems with it but + rep for the heads up..
