argggh just got the worse news i could think of, so i will prob have to give this a miss and maybe even hanging rock ...
took my twin solexs i put on yesterday to the carby place and turns out not only do i need to put a new kit through them but also no.4 carby is fukd and all the butterfly need to be replaced! All this will cost $550+ which isn't worth it in my books as i could eventually find a good rebuilt pair for just under that price. If anyone has some proper WORKING solexs in good condition/had rebuilt kit through or you definentaly know they are fine the PM me immediately... i really don't wanna miss hanging rock!

Actually put me back on the list
Even though i am going to end up paying about $730 i am going to have 2 rebuilt solex carbs, acid dipped and ready to go by friday with absolutely no probs. I'm lucky enough to have a savings account my grandparents setup for me which has just a tad over 10k (not that i'm really spose to spend it on the car, but this is an emergency)so its not really coming out of my pocket. And yes i do know that $730 is a crazy amount but due to VERY persistent parents and a new uni course starting monday, i have to have the car running.

I'm still on the "maybe" list... i'd like to come but am having to wait til Thursday (my day off) to properly look at why the car is running like a kent. I thought it was a dud alternator but it seems to be at a consistent 13.5-14v when running. Not sure what's wrong now.
