Check this thread to help ID your 2-TG or 2-TGEU

The 88262 2TGEU is a low compression engine (Like 8.5:1 from memory) which is bugger all higher than a 3T-GTE. This is good for higher boost but means it will very much perform like a 1.6L 3T-GTE.

A 2/3TG hybrid will generally have around 9.8:1 compression as even tho the 3T-C is a low comp engine the 2TG comustion chambers are smaller which ups the comp. To be honest 90kw from one of those is above the norm so I'd love to hear what was in it and what sort of Dyno it was. I bet its a blast to drive.

550cc injectors, because you can get them chep of RX7's and GTR's, or for side feed 540cc supra or ST205 injectors for the same reason, they'er cheap

Its a s%#t load of fun to drive.

As much as i'd love to say i built the motor myself, i bought it already running in a dinged up shell. I know it has bigger cams of unknown specs. And it runs 40mm dcoe webers with 36mm chokes. Pacemaker extractors and a 2-1/4 exhaust. All i've done since buying it, aside from putting it in a better body, is allow it to breath a bit better. And i'm not sure of what the dyno was off the top of my head.

Sorry for going OT. Please continue...

from looking at that thread mine is the one with no markings so its a 88262. it also has the same stamping on the 2TGEU plate on the front i think it says GA82 or something from memory. Thats an awesome bit of of info thanks heaps.

im spewing about the clutch slipping i just hope i can have it sorted out soon coz the ke20 has a few tests coming up

be more specific dude, he means the 2JZGTE side feed injectors.

you can use 1/2J, 3S, SR20, RB25, VG30dett, from memory the 1GGTE injectors are top feed, but i could be wrong.

    anyway, back OT.

I wasn't sure whether you were usinging a top or side feed fuel rail, so I put 2 options up.

RX7 injectors are tp feed, just picked up a set for my CA18 for $155

P.S: poor mans ghetto clutch fix: take it out, inspect it, if thee is any meat left give it a clean up then sand with some wet and dry. might last a little longer.

I'd say that since the clutch seems to have only started slipping since the power increase, then it's probably to do with not having a strong enough pressure plate!

A new clutch, or "poor mans ghetto clutch fix", may work for a week or two, but it will start to slip again if there is a decent amount of power and not a decent amount of pressure behind the clutch...

Don't forget there are different types of SR20 injectors. RX7, GTR, CA18 and SR20 GTIR injectors are interchangeable between each other - the other SR20 injectors are different AFAIK

I heard weird things about spray patterns and shit with Rx7 injectors, bad idling etc so i didn't use them. I got GTR 440cc ones also for $150.

Just for comparison, my 2TGTEU has been dynoed a few times, ranging from 165HP to 192HP at the wheels, depending on tune, etc.

It's got a Garret GT25 turbo, running 10PSI, forged pistons, 3TGTEU conrods, Wolf 3DV4 EMS, Intercooler, larger injectors and various other bits.

So, that's what I've managed to get out of my 2TGEU. 3TGTEU is 1800cc, with longer stroke, so in a similar setup (mine's pretty unique though) would probably be higher HP.

To go higher, I'd have to start worrying about breaking gearboxes, clutches, etc. too, so high HP is not everything.

    SPIDA - 1974 TA22 Celica (2TGEU 1600cc with Garrett GT25 320HP turbo) Dyno - 168.9HP at 10PSI, 14.8 sec quarter (so far)

That is the kind of dyno graph I would expect to see from a car with too large a turbo. If the turbo is matched and working optimally you should be getting peak torque significantly lower in the rev range than peak power. I assume the tuner capped the power curve at that point as it completely crashes after the point of peak torque.

If you get more boost into it you should at the very least get a much fatter torque curve with the peak much earlier than peak power.

mm i would of thought that you would of got more than that? is the motor rebuilt at all? i ran a 15.9 in my 3t rolla and all that is, is balanced bottom end, lighter flywheel, 20thow off head, cleaned up head, rebilt and baby cam with badly tuned 40mm solexs, and im lookin at getting at least 100hp and my car makes power to likr 7000 then it valve bounces LOL
