What do you mean by the collets dont fit mate? Wrong thread?
You are using coilovers with these right? (Contrary to their documentation, they do not fit standard components...and certainly dont fit with the factory spring hat)
Hi all,
I am trying to fit Noltec adjustables to top of the front struts of my RA 23.The collets sent to me don't fit. I have a list of collets from Noltec, but the fitting instructions are a little vague,on the different sizes etc.So I thought I would ask if someone has done this before to one of there's and could share some info on how to go about it.
Cheers,
Wheelie.

ooh ok. The mob that sold them to me made out they simply replaced the old tops and then used the collets/spacers to sleeve up the top of the shockie.
Thanks for this I will take it up with them monday.
I assume you had the same issues as I did here...
Noltec don't want to admit there is a problem...I went through it with them numerous times, even ripped a strut out of a wreckers and provided them with drawings on how to make it fit and their genius marketing section told me to use a different part number (which was for a TA22, which has a different bolt pattern all together...)

yep same issues and the shockie moves around inside the bearing like a cock in a sock
ohh...i never had the issue with the shockie moving inside the bearing, the diametres of the collets i got were perfect in that regard...

Noltec sent me a 2 page email on different sizes.I'll get it sorted, even if I make-up some of my own.
Thanks for the replies.
Wheelie.
you will end up requiring a spacer about 30mm thick to do the job and it has to be like a sleeve over the shock shaft.
as far as the movement in the bearing is concerned, are you running the correct top nut to suit the shock and bearing id? it should have come with the kit!
DONT run a std nut on the top of the bearing as it will only go on by 3 threads and you will end up with the shock shaft falling out.
cheers
