Ive got an R154 in my car which still was originally an auto(bought it like this though). The D light is on whenever Im in gear, except it switches to R for reverse gear. Reverse lights work too.

I'll probably be under the car in the near future and have have a squiz at the wiring if needed.

Would you have too use the supra r154 or a soarer/chaser one with the remote shifter.

having a look on the firewall, are there provisions there for a clutch master? or gonna have to get funky in mounting it?

You'd assume that the Aristo would share a firewall similar to some other toyota from that era. If all the other cars are anything to go by?

You could always get one of those racing type pedal boxes that mount the master up under the dash horizontally.

Not 100% sure. I usually check with the old wiggle method. I only realised the R lights up in reverse a few days ago!

BTW: Here is an extract from the old supras.nl website, the correct pinouts for an Aristo ECU. (Yes some wires are different to a JZA80)

well this just all got a fuckload easier...

I just spoke with John from importbitz and he is actually converting that manual aristo back to auto so I have just put dibs and a deposit tomorrow on the handbrake, handbrake cables, brake pedal, clutch pedal and master cylinder...

I was about to say the Aristo shares its floorpan with the Crown (both are an S chassis), and I'm pretty sure there are manual Crowns so that would be one avenue of manualisation...

... but getting all the bits from John ready to bolt in is a much better option. Score!!
