oh im going to remove the dash and remove the globes and black out the automatic gear selector indicator when I do this...want it to look like the manual was meant to be there

FWIW the R154 remote shifter assembly from the JZX90/JZX100 boxes isn't interchangable with the JZA70 assembly

It probably is interchangeable with a bit of fiddling. I did the same sort of thing with a W58, you have to mix'n'match components but it can be done.

Much easier to get a complete JZZ30 box in the first place though. Take a few measurements first so you know which one to buy!

from what John found the jza70 box doesn't physically have provisions to attach the remote linkages. He had an x100 box that needed to be converted to the a70 style shifter and wasn't able to do it unfortunately.

Ah ok that makes sense. I actually did it the other way, ie external to internal shifter.

I'm sure it would be possible by using the x100 rear housing as well.

I was about to say the Aristo shares its floorpan with the Crown (both are an S chassis), and I'm pretty sure there are manual Crowns so that would be one avenue of manualisation..

I'm pretty sure the last manual Crown was the MS137

I just spoke with John from importbitz and he is actually converting that manual aristo back to auto

surely it is worth heaps more and is more fun to drive already with the manual box

Was the auto particularly bad or did it just not suit the driving you wanted to do? I only ask as I'm trying to find reasons NOT to buy an aristo next Feburary...
