    Default new motor oil consumption

hi i just built my 22r and it has used about 4lts oil in the first 10000 kms after rebuild
is this normal or have i broken a oil ring or something
there is no oil leaks at all and no visible smoke when i thrash the motor

Much higher then I think it should be, but would still be considered the 'high end' of normal consumption at even 1L per 2,000km.

4L/10,000 kms is less than 1L/2000kms

did you do the usual run-in process after a rebuild? (oil change after 100-500kms, and then another soon after?)

It's gotta either be leaking it or burning it

pull out the plugs and check for signs of oil. with oil consumption like that you will soon know if you are burning it or not !

Did you put new valve stem seals on it !! do you have valve stem seals on it
