could always get an electronic distributor from an ae82....

so the 4ac's in an AE82 use an electronic distributor? but not the ones in the AE86...
i spose there would be differences, i noticed the AE82 4ac's have M/T or A/T written on the rocker valve cover as well.

Hi,

I checked my stickers and manual but alas it doesn't say anything about the points gap.

However, you need to use Nippendenso W16EX-U or NGK BP5EY spark plugs with a gap of 0.8mm, and the dwell angle is 52 degrees.

Sorry I can't be anymore help as I don't have much info on the 4A-C and, for such an engine that was made in large numbers, I can't seem to find much - especially for the one in the AE71.

the dwell angle is a better way of setting the gap anyway.
just gotta have the know how and the right equipment.
and yes, from what ive heard, ae82 have an electronic dizzy you can use.
