    Default Might sound Stupid but....

Ran a search but couldn't find what I was looking for,

Is it possible to fit a boost controller of some sort to a supercharged engine.
That way instead of changing pulleys to change boost I could just turn it up or down accordinly?

no it doesnt work the same way, a boost controller on a turbo manipulates the wastegate which limits the pressure. A supercharger's boost is regulated by nothing other than the pulley and there is no easy way to manipulate it without changing pulleys.

Haha yeh i was thinking....how? Supercharged cars don't have a wastegate...
    Would be cool though.

You could theoretically do it. However, it would be highly wasteful, and the maximum boost you could run would be whatever the maximum with the pulley would be.

Therefore, you could have a pulley at say 10psi.

Then, have a BOV like unit after the supercharger, that bleeds off a certain amount of air.

Therefore, say have the BOV bleeding off 2psi, therefore the actualy psi going to the engine would only be 8psi.

Like I said, a waste of energy, but do-able all the same.

You could if you had a bleed setup after the blower! work the same as when people chase loss of boost from hose leaks etc.
You would need to test the right size bleeds for the lower boost setting.

    like a throttle body/BOV/SC setup ?

You can use a variable ratio pulley like they use in CVT transmissions. It would work very well but would be extremely costly.

Hmmm I didn't think so, but now it's good to know why.

I was hpoing to run at say 14psi for go fast moments, then be able to wind it down when it wasn't needed or when the other half was driving.

    Cheers.

Well in that case, you could run

    SC - BOV - TB

And have the BOV setup to be referenced off a few things, and just have it bleed off air when you don't want full boost.

You would have to have the air metering device after the bleed valve though

Yep, correct. In the form of a gas reg like I've got, combined with probably TWO reference pressures.

could just run a pulley for 14psi all the time and regulate your right foot.
