Toyota part numbers maybe?
hi,
does anyone know what the numbers on OE 3SGTE camshafts make reference to? for example, on one of my heads the numbers on the cams are 88360 and on the other head the numbers on the cams are 88362. any information would be great, just wanting to know what the differences are.
thanks in advance
Jack

88360 and 88362 are part number suffixes. in other words, the cams would start with 5 numbers like 11110 or the like and have the 88360 at the end. the designation of '88' in the suffix means that the part was produced by Yamaha and marketed for a Toyota engine.
Kind of reviving this thread real quick...cuz I'm looking for camshaft info also. the 88360 cams are stock 1st gen 3SGTE cams. 232 degrees of duration and something like 7.15 mm of lift. I'm assuming that your cams numbered 88362 are in a 1st gen head? look on the front of the cam(by that I mean facing the technical front of the engine where the camshafts attach), are there any stampings on it? it might say something like "35GTE 264" That would mean that they are ATS cams with 264 degrees of duration and I think it's like 9.15mm of lift (I think the .15 is wrong..) but anyways, thats the info I got! I am looking around trying to find out what engine the 88362 cams come from.
Both were from Gen 2 heads, however 1 is MR2 and 1 is GT4 I believe.
What are ATS cams? The 88362 certainly looked to have more lift and duration that the 88360 which you have stated. So are these a performance factory cam or is this where the ATS part comes into the equation?
