The box behind the 1G I am lead to believe is a a370, not a340, i spoke to paul about this again yesterday, and he commented that the sprag simply won't handle the power. The second part being that can the a340 be built with a transbake?? And if so, is that included in the price you have been quoted?? The jatco has a transbrake, and the price of the box is included, no exchange needed, this will save the $$ for the box, and $120-150 in freight in sending the a340 to adelaide. Lastly, check if the 1g box is in fact an a340, or if its different in configuration to the 1J box, as I have seen both, the 1J box is definately larger in size, you will need to know if it also has to be adapted to the 1G bell housing at extra cost again.

Lastly, find out what the converter is thats included in teh price, as the KEAS box includes a TCE custom made unit with anti ballooning plates and all the big hp gear to handle 700+hp, and if the one you've been qouted on is anything special or has an \y limit to how big you can go. Regardless of which box you purchase, converter choice will be critical!!!

Agree with that 100%! All theory here but for me it is potentially the difference between an 11 second car and a 13 second car.

I think it would be easier to go with Jatco. If I decide on getting a built box in the future then I wouldn't mind seeing if Keas can do a package to suit a 1jz.

Also, street rwd/ sport rwd doesn't allow transbrakes however you can still use them in test and tunes to get the quickest ET's.

Sport rwd doesn't allow slicks either, No point having 400kw and not being able to use it Well for me anyway.

As for the 1J, Paul can do a box for one, he usually tries to recommend people use the glide or C4, for which there is a bellhousing off the shelf, but his 3 speed 550rwkw Jatco is usually lighter, smaller, and better, it would just be a matter of getting the bellhousing redrilled, which he's very accustomed to doing. I'm sure he has one in stock to get heights off anyway. Call me when you need a box Chris

EDIT: One of teh biggest reasons I trust paul so much is the converter issue. He's built so many converters for australia's fastest street turbo cars that he knows exactly whats needed size wise to get the best flash stall speed but good lock up. Correctly sizing a converter is an art, and he's mastered it, over 100+ cars. Also of late some development with PAC for some rotor converters has led them in a new direction in getting them to come up on the transbrajke quickly, while still locking up early, a big plus for anyone running a big turbo on a small engine!!
