Fun car hell yeah...it's like an ae86 in that it's light and well powered.

Engine conversion has been one of the easiest i could imagine. Once the cross member is out, the engine drops to the floor, and slides out the back. Installing new engine is simply the reverse.

No crazy TA22 V8 engine conversion here.

Next week drags!...*so i keep telling myself*

Well, apart from people bailing out on me, in true sucky fashion .. we've hit another snag.
Apparently there is another car club going to the drags this week and they have already booked the car club lane.

Apparently only one car club lane per night.

I'm gonna head down anyway.. but it just means we'll be racing against every other jap car down there instead of having our own exclusive lane.

    dam it.

    see ya's down there..

you'd know if you turned up, Pansy Boy Mk2! Hehehe - best time for the night for me on paper was an 11.82 @121MPH, ..., however after corrections, it was a 13.6 @101MPH - new computer have a fat bottom end but really gets up and boogies up the top - it will be a good track computer!

well, on a more successful debut of the 7MGTE power, my best time for the night was a 13.3sec on 15psi still with wheel spin in 1st and 2nd ..

for those who like to analize all angles of data, my 60ft was 2.2sec and a terminal speed of 171km/h

as most saw on the evening - traction was a real problem, coupled with 20yr old suspension had the rear end bouncing like a Snoop Dogg video clip.

oh well, a good start to 1/4mile times. The times can only get better from here as the mods come

    cheers

got quite a few runs in last night... at least half a dozen... maybe a couple more

    pretty consistent 13.6 runs..

just trying to get the power on the ground for take off... as you could tell by most of my 60ft times, it was usually just wheel spin!
started to get some better take offs towards the end of the night..

If anyone got some video, i'd be interested to see it - that will show the whole story

    cheers

    Damo,
I think I might have got one of your runs on my mate's video camera. I'll see if I can get it off him. Well done on the times. I think those times mean you would have beaten the Ferrari!!
Tristan seemed to be going well - I thought I saw an 11.7 at one stage.
My mate was happy - 15.01 out of a dead stock 351 with no LSD and old hard tyres wasn't too shabby.

    Regards

    Peter

    thanks Pete...

yeah - the Ferrari wasn't up to everyone's expectations.. mid 14's I saw most runs. not sure what the deal was with that.. probably too much wheel spin?.. (I know that problem)
would have been nice to get some footage of me racing the Ferrari!

Thats about as much smoke from the tyres I got on the night... doesn't look very impressive..

and check out the rear squat / neg camber I had in the rear during take off!.. no wonder I wasn't getting much traction
