THe pump is an internal one. It is located in the fuel tank on a mount. Its physically located underneath the gearshift, but you must drop the tank out for installation.

The ae82 pump will be OK.

I bought a Walbro pump last for it which i am yet to install.

That was the question for me... And it turned out to be fuel filter! $20 fix rather than dropping the tank...

What problem do you have exquisit?

    ah icic

    ok heres my prob
i think i ran it down to bugger all fuel in the tank a couple of times coz i was too lazy to fill up
    anyhoo
recently its started to make a whining noise but i didnt think much of it
i only noticed recently the longer i drive the louder it gets
today (being really hot) i also had to drive alot of places n on the way home on the m4 on ramp at silverwater i changed from 1 to 2nd to 3rd... wen i grabbed 4th it didnt want to accelerate n kinda died in the ass... so i put it into 5th n still nutin... bak to 3rd... still no drive....
then i leave it in neutral n i notice the revs drop all the way down to zero n then the car is on reds
so i coast it to a stop on the side of the rd... pop the boot bonnet but no smoke nutin...
    so wasnt engine related hopefully
waited another min try to crank... turns n fires but nutin....
wait another 2 mins do it agen n it fires n i can drive fine...
10 mins later happens agen... i pull over giv it a rest n fire up n off i go
n one more time 10 mins later

this time i pull over... goto a mates house n wait 1.5 hrs til i try to start it up

also in the past,it is hard to fire up on relaly cold days in winter.... have to keep crankin n crankin

    car is a aw11 import
    bigport with map sensor
dunno wot other info to giv
    =S

    thanks in afvance again!!!

mate i had the same problem and it all began in hot weather like you are getting. Then i started getting it every time i drove. She would be good for 10 minutes then boom, drove like shit, not getting fuel, I ended up fitting a new fuel filter and 2 days later no more problems

the fuel filtes is balck and located on the firewall in the engine compartment

follow the fuel lines from the fuel rail if in doubt

edit: before disconnecting the fuel filter remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse box and the coil lead then crank the motor over for about 10 seconds this will remove any fuel from the lines so it dosent go everywhere. You will have to prime the lines when the filter is installed simply turn the key to accessories and hold it there for about 10 seconds repeat that a couple of times and hey presto should turn over first time

Hey i also had issues with mine doing the same thing, i stuffed around for about a week replacing bits and pieces, but quite bizzarly in the end mine was a corroded earth from the engine to chassis. all i done was replace that and replace the battery to chassis and also added one fron battery to engine and it has never ran any better...

But anyhow replacing the filter wont hut its on the fire wall behind the passenger seat....

depends on how handy you are! a hoist or pit will make it much, much easyer.
takes about an hour and a half from memory.
