well, ill quickly say what a awsome weekend i had!
It was my first time and defenatly not the last.
The night shananigans were a crack up, nice people to hang out with and lots of drinks to make the night that little bit more interesting

Some very nice cars and good competition was had, especialy at the drags, it was more fun/exciting racing these toyota's then racing at the eastern creek raceway.
Was a real hoot racing some tuff cars, and a blast being in the finals racing the yellow beast (Jason was it?), Jo and Andrew.

I went there to have fun and hang out with a bunch of real cool guys/gals, and not only did i do that, but i came back with two trophies, so im stoked!

    Id also like to thank:

The toyota nationals, dubbo city car club and toymods for organising and making such an excellent event, and i hope they do it again next year so a few more of us can attend.

Nathan, for getting us involved and giving us all the information and help we required, and all teh hard work he will be doing on the toyota nationals website uploading the pics/vids, good work buddy.

    Luke, Kristel, for taking pics/vids.
Luke did a lot of filming while we were racing, he sacrificed his racing so he could do this and we all apreciate it mate, and a big thanks for driving us around in your car when we were too toxicated to do ourselves

    Scott,
for letting me use his room to store my tyres

    Stitt,
Thanks a lot mate for taking my wheels from and to the event, big thumbs up to you buddy!

    Hally/Ross,
for letting me spoon with them.

Hally/ross/nathan/sam/kristel/scott/jonathan(have i spelt that right?)/Jo/luke/glen and all the gang from toymods for a great weekend and being such a great bunch!

Looking forward to next years for sure...

Yep, another great year come & gone.. I can only echo everyone elses sentiments with regards to thanking the Nationals Committee for all of the hard work and dedication they put in to keep this great event running year after year..

Was good having my car there after a year off, and getting to stretch it's legs coming home was an absolute delight (until the inevitable traffic was reached..)

Great fun catching up with all the old faces (and to meet some new ones) and to everyone I didn't get to meet I hope to see you all there again next year..

Now, what would a post Nationals thread be without some pics??! (I'll be getting these to Nathan for the gallery at some point, but just wanted to post a bit of a sample of some of my faves)..

Did someone call for a lineup of Old School?

    Dave McNeill's ST205 looking a little googly-eyed

LOVED the colour on this Supra

    Tweety looking gorgeous as always

And some good ol' fashioned muscle at the drags..

Thanks again to everyone who was involved, as well as to everyone who came and had a good time
    Cheers,
    Paul.

Well Nats for me started on tuesday, I headed to Sydney from Canberra with my mates Landcruiser. I picked up the fully sic 4 inch zorst trailer from Guilty and got read to run WSID on wednesday. As per usual this was rained out.

Thursday was spent getting cars and trailers ready for the trip, and I was loaded up for an early start on friday morning. Come friday it was a little unusal but I was the first to get to the meeting spot. As I chopped on the first of my many Maccas breakfast a variety of Toyotas best showed up, from Celicas, MR2's the supra club among others.

As it started to drizzle we started out on the route to the Nationals. We headed out thru hte outskirts of Sydney to the Bells line of Road. we got out with no problems however the cruiser had to be put into low range to help pull up the steep Hill.

The end of the Bells line of road brought with it the end of the drizzle and rain, Lithgow and our first stop. We then headed on to Orange via Bathurst for lunch.

For lunch we just stopped in and grabbed Maccas and Red Rooster nad I reloaded the wagon on the trailer so as to hopefully imporve the speed it would do before the trailer would get the death wobbles. From there we headed on to dubbo.

Once arriving in Dubbo with a km plus traffic backed up behind the truck, we headed to the hotel checked in unloaded and washed the cars. After we got back The beers and the chit chat started flowing and continued as the Toyota Nationals guys greated us and brought out a truck load of Pizzas.

After dinner the biggest dubbo tradition was on, we grabbed a sober driver (thanks Roundy) and filled the wagon to it max of 7 people and started the happy laps of Dubbo. It was looking pretty boring with just a few looks from the locals and a few gee ups til I was dared in the dickie xeat to put my racing helmet on. Within 5 or so min the usual happened and we were greeted by the flashing red and blues of Dubbo's finest. After a few nice words and some warnigs about double demerits we were back on our way to the hotel without a worry, this isn't the first time this has happened with the cops but the boys in the car had a laugh.

Friday night the beer kept flowing it was great to me Matty Mr 1JZ and his mates from Adelaide and within hours and after our banter in this thread a best of three grudge match with money was settled on for Sunday. We got an earylish night but with the help of a unamed frieght train impersonator little sleep was had in my room.

Sat morning brought a glorious day, with some smick Toyotas parked on a local Dubbo oval. Everyone checked out each others rides and had a good chat, plus the locals seemed to out in force and also enjoying the view. Sat afternoon Mr 1J, Rod and myself headed out and got some shots of our cars at different spots around Dubbo.

Sat night again the beers were flowing and Toymods headed to the Hogs breath for dinner, after which we headed out on the town with the adelaide boys, Clint, and some of the CCG guys. The Comercial was sort of going of I supose. I was home by about 2 but then sat up chatting to Kirsty and Sarah and andrew for a bit before i crashed. The rest of the boys got home closer to four I believe, or as I was told when waking up my flat mate for the early start of the drags.

Sunday saw another great day and an early dtart to loaded the car and the trailer and to make the small trek back to Wellington for the drags.

I got the car off the trailer and got the sticky tyres on the back and was lucky enough to . be first up for the day with my first run being against against OWG00R. Let me tell you I got properly hosed. The rest of the day saw me beat a 2J Supra, I had an awsome run and win against 1JZ panel van. I was challenged to a run and was promptly beaten by Kylie in her 1J Cressi. However the hi light of the day was beating Mr 1J in our grudge match and also going a bigger burn out. It was a great day with some quick times laid. It was great watching Yellow Rolla and some of Supras get out of the hole. The event was run very well and it was great the Dubbo city car club had a good turn out to race us including the V8 blown 23.

Sunday night a few of grabed a cab to the West Dubbo Bowling Club to the nationls dinner , dinner was great, the raffle prizes were great and the stuff that went up for auction was insane well done to those winners

I won't cover the Toyota Nationals winners I'll let the officals do that but well done to them all.

I went to bed pretty early and got out of Dubbo early so I could get back to canberra at a reasonable hour after dropping the car and trailer off in Sydney.

I would just like to say thanks like many to Gypsy23, Grant and Dave for there tremendous efforts in Orgainsing the event.

It was great to make some new mates, well atleast know what they look like and have a chanve to talk face to face.

Anyways looking fwd to next year

I just wanted to add I that I had a splendid time once again and thoroughly enjoyed the festivities put on by the ToyNats officials. Despite spending this long weekend shopping and having a relatively car-free weekend, the social atmosphere was great - especially when the sun went down and the EtOH came out by the dozen. The conversations were random and consisted of many mum and sister jokes, many sexual references and Mos harping on about his new love interest (to Danny's dismay - lol). The mornings sucked a little due to some little kids riding their noisy push bike toy up and down the front of our rooms and the staff cleaning all our empty beer bottles, which were strewn in the bushes or at the front of rooms > : ( At least I got to sleep in and relax though

It was good to see the usual faces like Mos, Danny, Clint, Kylie and Jason as well as the new peeps I can now put a face to. Thanks to Mandy and Eliza for having a couple of drinks with me... we didn't end up finishing the whole bottle, but maybe at the next event hey?!

The weekend's events inspired me to wash and polish my car yesterday on my day off (I did the entire thing on my own!!!) and now my arms are sore. Shame I don't have anywhere to drive it to show it off

This is a video I made for the NSW Supra Club boys and girls. The video has a small bias towards Supras.....but if you want an idea of how the event panned out this is pretty good

Other drag videos will be posted when the Nationals website gets more space....

It's 8:40 long and 44MB in size, obviously it's compressed so it plays happily on the net. It's in windows media format.

You can download it HERE for best results right click link and "save as".

Thanks to LukeSupra for filming, ZZE92 for images, 7MA61 for iamges, Hally for images & Stitt for images and all you tops guys and girls for turning out to give us the cars for the footage
