clutch making loud creaking sound

My clutch has just started making a loud creaking sound when I press it down (car turned on or off).. sounds like the noise is coming from inside the box

The thing is the clutch is only about a month old, is something in there fucked or could it just be the slave cylinder making the noise?

It's a 3sge with an s53 in a st162

The noise only just started this afternoon, and gradually got worse over the course of the drive home.

Hoping I don't have to pull the box out again already

Also forgot to add it still seemed to be working fine, just making a damn nasty sound, and certainly a feeling of resistance is felt through the pedal

It would most likely be the clutch fork pivot being dry (no Grease on it).
Should have beeen greased up when clutch was changed.

You can try and spray a little bit of spray grease onto it by spraying into the bell housing through the rubber boot on the gearbox side of the fork.
But be careful you don't want to get any on the clutch itself

Hmm yeah I was thinking it might be that.. I have a feeling I forgot to grease it up when I put the clutch in, that and the thrust bearing.

I'll try a bit of spray grease on it and see if it quietens up.. if so I'll make a point to drop the box and grease it up properly some time soon.

Mainly just unsure whether to keep driving it how it is.. it seems to work fine still, just is noisy.

You want to get that thrust bearing greased up or you'll have to pull it out and put in a new one before too long.

I also had this happen on my RAV when the GT-Four box was put in. turned out to be a dry joint in or somewhere around the slave cylinder, so yeah it could be that too. mine got louder as it got worse as well...

Most thrust bearings are a greased for life sealed units. But the assembly will be moving on something. Not sure about the st162 but if its similar to a TA22 then the bearing slides on a tubey thing, This should be greased and the fork piviot point as already mentioned.

Also are you sure its not the clutch pedal? Mine used to squeek, quick spray with some white lithium grease fixed this though.

Yerp it is quite common with toyotas for some reason.
My mr2 is doing it aswell just been too lazy to get in there and give it a spray lol
