    Default 4agze clutch recommendation

can anyone recommend a good clutch to go with a stock 4agze? I'm currently running stock 4age clutch with 200mm flywheel, and its not holding up well as it is slipping and make some funky smell when I give it some.

Will the exedy heavy duty do the job? Please keep in mind that I drive this car almost everyday so I want something that is traffic friendly, but still able to transmit all the power to the wheels.

    Thanks

This is qood source of info from the old forums:

    http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.p...0868msg_520868

It'll give you an idea of what people used successfully and with what power output, quite a few examples of the 200mm friction plate.

There was thread on this new forum that followed on form that one but it wouldn't show up in my searches.

Strange.. im running 20psi ~ 210rwkw through my 4agte and the pressure plate or pedal effort is not unlike a normal car to drive. Doesnt slip even on 6000rpm launches. Its a ceramic clutch, not sure what pressure plate as it was a custom job from some 'clutch expert'

Thats what I don't want, because I take my car to work sometime during peak hour trafic. How much did it cost you? for the 4 puk?

I'm looking at the exedy heavy duty or the rpm one suppose to have 30% more clamping force. I wonder if it will be any better? anyone have any experience with them behind a ze?

I think I may have written this before, but my clutch experiences have all been behind a 110rwkw 4AGZE.

200mm Excedy heavy duty organic, off the shelf unit. Lasted 18 months of road use and drift days until I started 3rd gear clutch kicks regularly. Pedal no harder than stock if I remember correctly. In my opinion perfect for a road/sometimes track car.

Then a 212mm 4puck ceramic sprung centre Excedy unit again (with "uprated pressure plate" of some description). Has lasted 18 months of drift abuse and road driving. More of a pain on the street, but pedal still isn't very heavy at all, just need to learn the pickup point. This sort of clutch isn't worth the bother unless you really want to drift or track race hard I think.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

I've been running a exedy 212mm 4 puck friction plate/heavy duty pressure plate in my sprinter 4agze for the past two years, like hen said it's a little bitey for the street, but it's only a severe pain in heavy start-stop traffic.
But just drive slow like me and hold up the traffic whilst idling along in 1st

It doesn't slip under power, I can slip it if I need to, but i rarely do.

I love it, but you might not.

The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new

212 5 puck with "heavy duty cover. make sure its a sprung centre. NPC builds them for us, theyre really good cluthces. pedals not heavy, easy to drive. all you need for drift/thrash.

I used the exedy heavy duty clutch in my gze and i found it to be a great clutch. Held well but still had the drivability in traffic. You can still ride the clutch a bit without it wanting to spin the wheels. lol
