    Default Higher tyre offset

Hey guys I stupidly brought a set off BBS mesh rims which off a mate which are basicly a steal! they came off his 2002 Legacy B4.

I thought 5 stud bbs.. paid him the cash without doubt until now.

Offset is ET55. +5 more then stock for my mr2 17 x 7JJ which is .5 wider i think. Will these cause any problems? going from 45+ to 50+? i assume the wheels will stick out?

also by looking at it.. can anybody tell what the stud pattern is? Im hoping its not 5 x 100

    Impulse buying is baddd hmmkay

Um you didn't think of getting a ruler out to give you a rough estimate of distance between the studs. From memory WRX are 5x100 but the liberty's are 5x114.3.
    If in doubt power out

I tried rulling the distance from the inside the rim.
from the outside end of each stud it looks like its close to 115mm.

but if i measure it from the outside rim its 100mm which ones more accurate?

PCD is measured from the centre of the holes not the edge, and the way you describe your two measurements doesnt make sense

ed: And higher offset will push the rims further in not further out, so you're more likely to hit suspension / inner guards

I measured from the edges of 1 stud to another. like the front of stud 1, to the end of stud 2.

if the wheels are half an inch wider than stock(12.7mm) and you had the same offset as the original wheels they would stick out further... but that would look jdm phat anyway. a higher offset pulls the wheel closer into the the car, so if you devide the extra width by 2 (6.35mm) then that +5 offset would pretty much have those wheels sitting with the same load and only 1.35 mm closer to the guard. put away that rubber mallet

They would be 11.35mm closer on the inside and might get close to suspension etc, but that's hardly a problem when they aren't going to fit your car with that offset anyway.

you measure from on point of the stud hole, to the same point on the next one... so...

from the left side, to the left side of the next one.

they look like 5x100 anyway, sexy rims though

just get PCD changers, im using 5x100 rims on my supra with no worries!

the police wont be too happy IF they find out though

Forget about spacers, changers, etc. Yuck.

The best way to decide if the wheels fit is to actually try them on your car...
