    Default 20v silver

    Hi guys,

Just chasing info on exhaust systems for KE35 and 20v conversion - from headers back.
I have made up my own headers 4-2-1 in mandrel bends as i could not buy a set that would clear the pitman arm. I have 2 1/4" flange at the back of the headers and will continue with 2 1/4" pipe.

1stly- I am assuming i do need a cat for rego?

2ndly - what mufler will keep it quiet enough but still give good flow. I do not want it too loud. Just comfortably throaty.

If i install a 2 1/4 high flow cat after the headers and a straight through 3" mufler at the tail pipe - would that be loud?

    cheers peter

yes u need a cat.. dont be silly
i am about to purchase a rolla, with silvertop, custom extractors, mandrel bend stainless steel 2 1/4 zorst, highflow cat and ziggen muffler, im not sure how loud it will be but i cant let you no.
There are plenty of highflow mufflers available on the market, on top of head i couldnt tell you any i would recomend, but a good google search should get some results.

    Lukey ultra flow..

i just picked one up for 160 and it does pretty well.. not too loud and is straight through.. the famous "growl" is a lot different to what i expected, but yea it looks like a stock muffler which gives it that "stealth" factor.. u'll need a resonator, and if it gets too loud, put 2 in there..

and no don't bother with a 3" tail pipe.. it might get noisier but there really isn't any point in doing it..
