edit - what vios is trying to ask is: "whats wrong with the performance of your current cooler that makes you want to upgrade?"

vios: no need to continue being a smartass...

So what exactly is wrong with your existing cooler? What improvements to you expect from a "better quality" cooler?

If you want to run 14psi, that's fuckall. A so-called cheapie won't have a problem with that, so again - why do you want to upgrade?

Measure pre and post intercooler charge temps.

Measure pre and post intercooler boost levels.

Then you can tell if it is sufficient.

I agree with Norbie. I have an el cheopo cooler and have run up to 22psi briefly. Seemed to work fine

Get a stocko Soarer cooler. they are thick as all hell and small. People have made 220RWKW in a soarer 2.5 twin turbo with the stock cooler. You can prob pick one up or around $40 or something. Clean it up and your laughing.

But I guess it depends on what you already have, if you have a chinese cheap copy already, then it prob wont be much of an upgrade

    have a look herehttp://www.plazmaman.com

Have a look at the intercooler "real story" tab in product section etc.
I only just got told about the site an hour ago{plazmaman just told me about it} and just had a look, should set a few things straight!

    Bah, flash web sites FTL.

When I eventually found the article you're talking about I found it was full of big impressive-sounding words like fluid dynamics and boundary layers, but was short on any actual technical information - like why their intercoolers are actually better than the $200 eBay cheapies. I'm not saying their coolers aren't better (they probably are), but WHY? I need more than a product spiel to be convinced.

took me 3 mins to even get stuff loaded, then couldnt find the article, then read the comments here - and gave up looking...

that said i bought my 4" mandrels for the intake from plazmamannnn... fuckin nice bits and i finally got them at a great price. though, edcon steel (where i bought them from) gawked at how much plazmaman wanted to 2 single 90deg bends - and promptly gave me a discount... "noone would pay that much for a piece of pipe, here, this is what we think they should be worth"

Thats what i thought about the web page. Pissed me off waiting to load etc, got no chance if you had 56k.
From what i have seen, yes some will gawk at the price but i reckon that will come down etc as more get sold, but i dont know for sure.
keep the feedback coming, will only make it better in the long run!
