It is possible to idle with 0 degrees spark advance

Edit: Did you time it to 10 degs with E and T1 shorted on the check connector?

Sounds like my ZE when it was first running, though the fact the idle had to be bumped up quite a few turns should have been a sign that something was wrong.

It seemed to run fine, but had no real grunt. We noticed the exhaust manifold was glowing after very short drives up the street and back. It ended up being the exhaust cam was a tooth out...

If I were you I would be pulling the crank pulley off, checking that the notch in the crank timing pulley aligns with the bump on the oil pump body, then you are 100% sure its where it needs to be, then double check your cam timing, then put the pulley back on and check your new timing mark for correctness, then check your ignition timing.

And as above, time it using the AW method.

Then i started it up then checked the timing and its at 10 on the block... everything looked and sounded fine, so i took it for a drive. putted around fine but when i went to give it some it dosent really go. dosent die or anything just has no grunt. PSI is reading about 10...

not really sure what to do.... should i just go get a tune and dyno?

    thanks people, bassy
