    What are the rules here???

    I uploaded a pic under my readers ride of my ute (just for the test)
    the max size to upload is 39.1Kb.

    Does each user have a small (web) space that they can use?

    I do have it setup this way at the moment. I think we'll end up restricting this to members only and only a small amount of storage.

    On the other hand I might just change it so you can only upload in the for sale areas like on the old forum.

    Any thoughts on this one?

    Maybe the sales and members rides

    As a limited upload limit would render uploading pics to Tech theads usless as A good thread may get ruined by the owner deleting the pictures that explain the text

    I think a small amout of space should be made avaliable to members to post in members rides and for sale.

    OK so do we go to the method we used previously with upload only in the for sale area's?

    I like the idea of adding value for club members by letting them host some pics but I also see where Simon is coming from with it having the potential to reduce value of posts in the future.

    What's the max number of images allowed per post?
    I was trying to redo my "Brake upgrade" thread from the other forum, but couldn't post as many images per message.

    Ok, doing stuff in the Tech & Conversion FAQ.
    4 images is the max.
    Is this changeable?
    4 images is usually nowhere near enough for tech stuff.

    on other Vbulletin sites its around 3-5 [img] images per post - way too few in my opinion!!

    It should be like on the old forums - 10 per post.

    OK I've set the maximum number of pics in a thread to be 10. We need to decide what we want to do about letting people upload pics though.

    I do like the option to have members upload and we can just limit it to club members if you guys would like. Or I can set it on a per section basis and only allow pic to be uploaded for the classifieds and members rides. If we limit where they can be posted then I'll just set a higher limit of hosting space for club members than non members.

    I think we should allow uploaded pics to techs and conversions for the reasons posted by steve... we can then have a user image section with a mb limit (2-5mb) so users can post pictures elsewhere (e.g. for sale section etc.)

    The way the uploading works is each group gets a certain upload limit size per member. So if we allow people to upload to tech and conversion once they get to the end of their alotted upload space they are likely to remove the pics so they can upload others, thereby making the tech threads close to useless.

    The other thing is we don't want to hugely increase network traffic for no added value.

    josh - something that i just found when trying to post my FWD 4age into RWD FAQ.... the fkn bastard forums count SMILIES as imgs!!!

    URGH!!!

    Im sitting there counting 1..2...3...4...5...6...7....8...9...10..... and then finally read that it counts smilies as [img] tags. What poopoo.
    I spose it does kinda limit abuse of smilies as posts though.
    ...... butt scratcher?!
