hey nicc - im the guy with the v8 supra - how you going?

I will be dragging the 302 next year for sure, try and stick it to that hybrid commodore...just need a quick tune and im right to go....am running far too rich at idle and theres a couple of small issues.. motor now has approx 2200km on it now so it is on the way to being run in. Just need to concentrate on getting some traction for now - planting it just throws the ass end almost instantly out so is pointless for quick times...Am not used to carbied cars where you actually have to put the pedal right to the floor...lol

I agree, that name has to go- will see if I can think of something.

I hope there are a few more girls out there next year, that'll be great. Our own team would be pretty good too.

And one more thing, I'm planning to let some work start on the Mark II, so we should be a bit quicker next year. that's all I'm saying for now..
Good to hear your coming back next year.
I think its good to have a bit of friendly rivalry, to build up the interest more.

Sure I've had a few laughs about matching a 1jz car with my conservative NA 20 valve, but I'm sure mine won't bother you at all if you do some upgrades, there's so much potential in those things.

but its not me you have to worry about, its those big 7Ms with big hiflow turbos and big inferiority complexes. I think they like trying to prove their worth against the more commonly praised 1jz. hehehe

7MA61, I hope you get there next year

Robbos_Toyotas, I just realised who you are. Good to hear you're coming along next year also.

I'm thinking I'd better come up with the goods now after showing off. I hope I do allright or I too will be going home in a bad mood.
Christian has a list of mods he wants done in the near future, at the moment its me making him wait, however if I want to do good I'm thinking I should let some things happen.

Yeah... i'm a little sceptical of the hilux's 9.5 (or sub-10) time too, when i raced it we were pretty even the whole length of the strip.

I ran a best of 10.49, so a 9.5 second car would've been pulling away from me quite severely.

But nevertheless, much kudos to the owner for bringing it out there and having a go, cos that's what it's all about!!

... I dunno why, but "Drag Queens" sounds like a good name for the girl's comp... i also like the WSID "Lipstick Eliminator"
    ...... butt scratcher?!

Witzl - if we run a "drag queens" I am sure that you will find a certain driver, of a certain crown wagon, powered by a 7MGTE, confused over which bracket is actually his!
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

No more arguments for the ladies drag name, it has to be :" CHICK'S on SLICKS".

    My opinion anyway, cheers Chuck.

Some videos of said crown driver racing yours truly and also trying to set himself on fire with sambucca. Plus a nice one of a certain tourer getting chopped by a girl in a little yellow corolla , Dong Vs cressida, Rod vs Josh and stitty gets his revenge on me in the eliminator

Many thanks to our (apparently) pissed cameraman Adam_Rolla for the drag footage

I'll add the videos as they are processed by youtube.com (there's 6 all up) and yes, I did win that first race after a shocker start

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven’t been on before now but really needed some time to unwind from at all.

I was very pleased at how this years event rolled out from SNS to the Awards Dinner. It’s also the first Nationals I’ve been totally happy with the judging too. From the forum feedback it sounds like everyone had a great time and all are keen to do it again next year. In the week before the event my stress levels peak and I always swear this will be the last time I do it. I then get to Dubbo, see all the cars and people and by Saturday night after a beer or two I calm down and start to enjoy myself.

One aspect I will be changing next year though is the drag racing. I just don’t believe the current format represents value for money for the majority of entrants and at $75 a car I want to feel that people have had their monies worth. The idea of a dial-in is sound but it just takes too bloody long to set up and if you happen to be knocked out in the first round you’re lucky to get another go the rest of the day. Added to that the fact that most people don’t really understand how dial-ins work or probably care. The event is about fun and the most fun I reckon is to line up your mate and rip down the track. We’ll still have a Quick 8 and those guys/girls can decide how they want it run but for the rest of us I’m thinkin some straight-forward grudge racing might be the go.

A few people have emailed me about the results. Tonight I sent the list of trophy winners plus all the results of the SNS and drags to Nathan so I’m sure he will put these on the site as soon as he can. The SNS and drag results are for all cars too so you can see how you ranked. If I missed anyone please let me know.

For me, the high points were seeing all the great cars and auctioning off the Toyota Celica plates on Sunday night. That was fun and we raised over $600 for the Rural Fire Service . The low point unfortunately was finding out someone had tampered with the hotels power box and emptied the contents of a fire extinguisher on Saturday night. Looks like the club will have to pick up the tab for that one.

I was reading with amusement all the potential names for the girls drag racing. I like the Lipstick Eliminator myself. We'll definitely still have a Powder Puff bracket though; that's for the guys who trailer their cars!

And on that note it's goodnight from me

It's like 3am, just got home from a great night out and Grant has indeed emailed me the results, which I will put up when a little more awake on the website. One thing I want to confirm though....The Hilux did do a 9.50 standard 2.4L, I still find it amazing as I beat him one all the runs I had against him, but hey that's what the time car said, so more power to him Very very nice work!

If you've tried to access the Toyota Nationals site over the weekend you will know it down. Not sure why but will get onto the hosting company today. If it's going to be down for any longer than today I'll get the results up some other way.

This week I will also sort out any refunds and tee shirts orders etc.
