The RA23 is sitting in a corner of the garage and is currently serving as a shelf while I wait for the uber-engine to be built. It is my intention to give it a bare-metal respray in the meantime but I can't see it happening for a while yet, too much other stuff going on!

Youll have to get an Altezza 6 speed for that to match the supra

LOL find me one with an R series bellhousing and I'll do it! Failing that a W58 will do me just fine.

make one... if bogans can be bothered making bellhousings to fit W50s to boat anchors, surely you can get an R series bellhousing, the altezza bellhousing, and put an aluminium fabricator to work making it fit.

No, my old W58 went to smashed-gearset heaven, I'll have to buy a new one.

As for bellhousing adapters, far too much effort/expense just to get another ratio. Remember the only reason I did the 6-speed swap for the Supra was the strength of the V160, not the extra ratio. No such incentive exists with the Celica.

The J160 has an integrated bellhousing... unless you meant cut the front of the J160 box off and weld on the front bit of the R bell.

Blasphemy! The 18RGTE will have such a broad torque band he'll only need two forward gears anyway!

Esteban, you better not be suggesting bogan powerglide crap!! Even my brother's HQ with V8 bogan-ness is woeful with the powerglide, he wants 5 cogger.

6 gears will help the Celica to that magic 300kph mark

I had a go at butchering the interior bits to fit around the new tunnel and shifter, it's not great but it's good enough for now (note: I have low standards). With more work it could probably look a bit better but, you know, meh.
