They are just a normal thread. I'm assuming you are talking about the central 19mm bolts? The are usually very tight, and a sharp blow to a ring spanner is the best way to free them up. Just make sure the spanner is located properly, lock your flywheel (or put it in gear if still in engine bay) and hit it with a rubber mallet. Either that or get a lever (breaker bar, 2m long street pole, whatever floats your boat), but the short sharp blow is the best option. The flex in the timing assy is disturbing if you apply sustained pressure!
