Best seats for TA22?

Hello Toymods folk,

I have a quick question for anyone who can help me,

I have a 74 TA22 that I’m building up atm and I was wondering what is my best option when it comes to front seat replacement?
My current seats are in ok nic, but the stock seats really don’t hold you in very well...
I’m looking for bucket like seats that are comfortable and adjustable...

Best if the rails are some what similar to
Any suggestions?

there has been some talk in the dedicated celica threads about SW20 seats, which i personally think look pretty good. Also WRX seats may be worth a look.

mate if you can get any autotechnica racing seats they will bolt straight on to your original rails. i done it in my ke20 and have done it to a celica too. NO mods at all.

justin is that just autotechnica or do other brands of aftermarket seats also bolt in with no mods?

Most seats will require mods but generally the aftermarket ones are easier to get fitted. Even if you have to mod them it's not too hard. Just cut the rails off, weld on some plates, and bolt in the new seats. Presto!

It's really going to be a matter of you going around looking at various seats, taking some measurements and seeing if they will fit. It looks like I will be going with SW20 seats simply due to the fact that they pretty much retain the original position, are very adjustable, and have that sporty but stock look I am after.

Alot of us have used honda prelude seats in the ta22

has them in mine - they sit a little higher , bit are heaps comfy and adjustable in the lumber side of things

sorry for dragging up an old thread, but i went for a drive in a mr2 spyder today.
It brown leather seats looked to be a perfect match for the tan interior of a TA22.

Just wondering has anyone fitted these to a first gen celica, or at least priced a pair
