Everything is relative. He's not aiming for anything huge, just a figure over 300rwkw.

Umm the motec M800 is only ~$3500 for the enabled version (all options)
The base unit can be had for ~$2000
Drive by wire and vvti control options will set you back an extra $1k
For the loom you can go the basic loom for ~200, or the loom with sensors for a bit under <$500

Personally considering drive by wire and vvti control cost $1k I'd just go the enabled and be done with it... that way you get all the other goodies like extra logging memory, pro analysis, single/dual wideband lamda, traction control, anti-lag, gear change cut (aka flat shift) and then some!

PS Also have a look at the SDL... its worth a touch over $2k for the backlit unit but can display any sensor you want (e.g. boost, speed, tacho (with bargraph), gear position, fuel pressure, exhaust temp etc. etc.) it also has a programmable alphanumeric display which can be programmed as an odometer so that you can keep things road legal.

if it's $3.5k for the enabled version, motec just hit the lead.
$2k for the SDL seems... well, a touch silly really for my purposes.

I'll have to more carefully look into the motec - can you recommend a dealer toobs?

price for the backlit SDL unit I found was $3k!
but yes, it appears $3500 for a fully enabled m800 (or $3200 for a enabled m600) is a normal price, with $500 for loom with sensors. Things are looking good!

You don't need any more sensors than what comes with the engine. Motec's will run just about any sensor.
Sounds like you'd be needing a base M600 with variable cam control and DBW enabled.

I dont know if your interested but I have a BRAND new M600 with data logging 512kb upgrade. Advanced functions. Loom and sensors.. I paid $4500.. And I'll take $3500

It has all books and the CD. It was going to go on my car but I ended up using a SM4 with MandW igniton and was keeping this for the drag car. However funds wont let the drag car happen for a while so if your interested grab a bargin..

I also have a BRAND new motec CDI-8 igntion which is around $1650. I'll take $1000.

Dont know if your interested just putting the offer out there.

So, once you add the loom and everything else required you are looking at over $2000 more money spent than going for the Autronic SM4.

That $2000 is a big fuckoff Garrett B.B. turbo, or a bunch of custom manifolds, or a shedload of other spastic modifications akin to the teachings of Joshstix.

... i know where my money would go.

im just wiring a vvti 2jz and we are pissing of the fbw butterfly and trying to fit a normal butterfly from a 1j or similar

i also ran into few other probs even though im runnin the std 2jz vvti ecu but slowly will
    sort it all out

fbw is easy to get rid off and whatever u do never tamper or modify and fbw throttlebody
if it jams open at hi revs yr fukt

so all u now need is a decent ecu that will do vvti easy and is easy to tune the vvti

make sure yr tuner knows how to tune vvti aswell because i do know some that are not very clued up on it
