    umm ???
    the idea of a jig is to replicate the rear end of you car if you start moving mounts and this that it wount bolt up and you'll have dramas

    just try and keep the std mounts in the same position(with a jig) and just transfer the mounts to the new diff if you get me if the new diff is longer then just do as i said above make sure it's even on both side or else you'll have one side hanging out further then the other

    excuse the spealling but i've had few heinekens

    One other thing to watch out for is to make sure your welding skills are up to scratch as it's possible to warp the diff housing with too much heat.

    sam-131 is on the money... a jig must be used to put all the mounts in the correct positions in relation to each other. If you simply measure and weld them indiviually there's too much room for error as it's not just the position but also the angle of the brackets thats important.

    id still get it straightened after the mounts are welded. Nothing worse than putting diff all back together, painting it and installing to find you have a leaking seal!
