dont know how much help it is....but starlets have the speedo sensor in the cluster (ie the speedo is still cable drive, but it also generates the signal for the ECU)
perhaps you could gut the bit u want out of something like that?
Ok, im after a hall effect sender for a digital speedo. The aftermarket ones by Autometer and the like are bordering on the ridiculous, so i was going to hit up U Pull It to see if i can find one from a donor car.
My current thoughts are
- AE101 onwards Corollas
- MX83 Cressida (post Update)
- Later model Camrys(91+ i assume)
Can anyone suggest any other cars. It would be going into a T50 which has the circular spindle with the tooth, rather than the square hole.

The sender on my auto JZX81 box was a screw-on adapter-type, I ended up screwing it onto the mechanical sender in my R154 when I did the engine swap. I'll see if I have saved any pics of it
Here is the sender which is on my IPRA car:
And also the part number for it:
Im having issues getting my EPC online, anyone care to crossreference the number (for those of hard of eyesight its 83181-20040)?

Sweet, thats an MX83 speedo sender according to the current EPC. It ranks in at about $400 from Toyota direct, but im sure it will be sourcable from a wreckers a bit cheaper![]()

Yeah, i reckon it could be cheaper again from a wreckers if its off an MX83.
You can get the autometer ones for $130 or so.
