    Get a dremel with a cutting disc, cut a slit in the outer race.
    Once the cut is made, it will just fall out.

    this thread might help - grease method works a treat, and I've used it successfully for exactly the same purpose after my brother hacked a bearing to bits...

    the welding method is by far easier than buggerising around with a puller, and the puller arms will probly scratch the bearing seat.

    i don't reckon the grease method would work on something wit such a asmall surface area to seal on. it godamn messy too

    get a stick welder and you'll have it out in one minute flat.

    Well the slide hammer worked, the one i brought was a $10 jobby from supacheap which didnt work to well so i got a long bolt and nut from bunnings and used that as the shaft for the hammer which worked better than the brought one. The end of the crank is a bit buggerised from the cresent spanner method but the mating surface is untouched.

    Gearbox is back in - Car is mobile again
    Time to revive the 28.

    who needed a funnel, the bottle was in one of those swing things, and had a pourer
