Default Will car shift 4th in Aristo tranny with SLD? (WOT)

Just ordered myself the pivot speed limit defencer and was wodering if I fit it on my 2jz-gte Aristo engine with auto tranny, will the car shift 4th at wot (wide open throttle) knowing that the 180km limit is in 3rd?

I find it hard to understand how it would, given that the tranny gives the ecu the speed for it to shift!

its an interesting question, i guess you would need to get a speed cut defender to try it out hey.

i am assuming you have somewhere to drive at 180km/h+??

let us know your findings jawa

Looking at his location i'd say yes, he just might

It did get the brain ticking over that one. And i figure that for somebody who wants to remove the 180km/h limiter they'd be wanting to pass 180 clicks at a tad more than 30% throttle occasionally - hence i'd like to think it'll hit 4th at full noise...

Those interceptors take the speed signal and (insert understanding of electronics here) get the signal to plateau shy of 180, say 160-170, so the computer thinks the car never gets to 180. If the ecu needs to know the speed is well high of 200 or wherever it would shift you might be in a bit of trouble. But i'd still like to think whoever makes those contraptions would've tested and encountered/rectified an issue such as that.

Guess you'll have to try and see, i'll be waiting to hear

At full throttle, I am led to beleive it won't.

Due to at full throttle it will not change gears until a certain speed.
And with the speed cut defender the ECU never sees a speed higher than ~175kph.

So the Soarer people say you have to back off the throttle for it to change into 4th, and then go back to full throttle.

what about if you did southos trick of using a resistor in the tps to limit the throttle signal to 95% or thereabouts?

would this also have any effect on the mixture?

the butterfly would be open 100% but the computer would only see 95% (for some reason the 2jz cressidas hit rev limiter even tohugh the car is not revving that high at wot)

No, because its above the kickdown point.

At least, thats what I'm led to beleive, never personally done it.

It all depends on your diff ratio too.

One more thing that came up in my mind and wanted to share,
If the SLD stables the signal at 175km/h, wouldn't the ecu think that I'm easing on the throttle and shifts as the car started cruising?

Still, need to check for the optimum answer

With the throttle still at WOT, it will not change up.
As soon as you back off, it will think you are easing, and will change.
