What he said. Check all hoses, pipes and fittings between the AFM and cylinder head. 7M's are notorious for developing leaks in the inlet system as they age.

I had this exact same problem with my 7m-gte, turned out to be a crack in my accordian hose, right before the turbo. I know your's is just a 7m-ge, but check intake piping after the AFM for a leak.Originally Posted by Mike
Yup, i had the exact same problem. I located it to be my ISCV, it was stuck open as the coils inside the ISCV were stuffed. If you pull the plug off the ISCV and nothing happensto the idle, then crimp the vacumm hose leading to the ISCV with your fingers and the idle should fall. If this happens, its your ISCV thats the problem. Start looking for a second hand item.

Well we managed to fix the problem, thought not exactly sure howWe think it might have been the ISCV not getting power. Anyways, being that its sorted and ive already bought another ISCV if anybody is in need drop me a PM. Thanks for all the help and ideas people.
Just for info... there should be two 7M-GE throttle cable lengths, one is for the IACS 7M-GE (longer), the other is for the non-IACS 7M-GE (Cressida) and 7M-GTE...
