I've been researching this and other threads in preparation for doing this upgrade to my TA22. With regards to machining the Pug rotors down to 266mm I just found this listing on Ebay that quotes the diameter of Pug 405 rotors to be 266mm.
    Would these be OK.

OK I think I just found the answer, I'd say no as the centre hole is 10mm smaller and the overall height is less. Pug 604 rotor height is 43mm whereas the 405 height is 27.5mm according to DBA....
    Oh well :-(

So I either need to get different struts or make an adaptor, at this stage I am probably going to do an adaptor and run SW20 calipers and discs as I already have them.

Apart from the caliper bolt spacing, are the tt132 struts the same? i.e. stub axle etc? Just eyeing up a pair on trademe now is all.

Not sure on KPI etc, but they do run the right stub to run the MS65 Crown 5 stud hubs which was what I wanted. Currently looking into Altezza calipers and discs now that I have gone to 17's .

Awesome, MS65 hubs are indeed the plan. You mentioned a while ago you knew where some were, any chance theyre still around? Now that I'm done uni for the year I can actually afford to buy things, its rad.

Haven't been able to get into the paddock they were in, but from a distance looks like the two cars there got crushed. Will keep an eye out for you though.

    That's just how they roll.

The upper hat ID for the strut is larger than the strut OD, the strut is able to pivot at the spherical bearing, the hat rests on the underside of the camber top and the strut is able to go through its range of motion inside the oversized ID hole in the upper hat.

Once you've run it let us know if you get any gauling from the interference between the upper hat and strut, I'm sure there would have to be some as nothing locates the upper hat.

I looked into these for mine but they wouldn't work on the inverted Bilstein design as the strut slider OD is way too large.

Their method is good but the execution is flawed.

    Good hey...

Put your gingerbeering skills into practise and make something.

I'll post pics of the ones I am making shortly (strut tops).

it looks like if i shorten the screws in the adjustable top that all may be sweet

EDIT: on second hand, even though unlikey nothing is to stop going over a bump and that little bearing bo-jigga from popping out

i'll get the 1mm grinding disc out and see how i go

also note that this is with the spacer ring provided by cusco

Hang-on, are yours the T3 upper hats with the needle bearings (called the upper hat system on their site)? i.e. the upper hat needle bearing rests on the underside of the camber top allowing the spring to rotate as you steer.

Once you cut the threads what does the top hat seat on? the shaft spacer or the bottom of the camber top?

yeah they have the needle bearings, its not just when you turn either, when the spring compresses it wants to rotate

it will sit on the bottom face of the camber top if i cut the adjustment screws

i could remove the spacer, but ive decided to leave it the as i dont want the nut sitting directly on the slots cut out of the side of the end of the strut
