i can pull struts out in 5 mins .... breaking them down is longer.
Keh? Hub only means I go to wreckers, pull off wheel, pull callipers off, pull hub and disc off complete, remove disc from hub.... Im not paying some wrecker-dude to pull a hub off me, i'll go to a wreckers where i can do it myself...

Bugger, that makes it the same as the JZA70 ones then...

I'd much prefer the MA/GA70 ones as they dont require much bending of the brake lines and doesn't get in the way of the carbies... (or plenum as the future holds)

I was just wondering what the difference between say the Koni upper hats, and the T3 'needle bearing' or 'roller bearing' upper hats are?

Needle bearings are meant to be better.... but if the normal roller bearings units are designed well enough, there is no real difference.

There was a big discussion on upper hat designs a while back (maybe on the old forums), try doing a search.

For Esteban, yes this would increase your scrub radius, but then again if you are increasing front track then you usually have bigger things to worry about than scrub radius. Like staying on the track.

I mentioned way back in this thread that I was in the process of putting together an MX32 strut and hilux/pug setup for a mates corolla and the main thing I was waiting to comment on was the resulting camber.

Well it's been on the road now for several thousand K's and works well.

Using the original KE strut tops it had (from memory) a little (very little) neg camber, definitely not positive though which was good to see.

It was run off a Camry 1" master cylinder too, which appears to be a little large when bolted to the tiny KE booster (same size as a TA22 booster) resulting in a pretty firm pedal.

So in retrospect, yes it's a good package and would definitely be done again but would probably use a 15/16" master cylinder if the small original booster was being retained.

The +38 wheels fitted perfectly too (17x7" rims).

Just been checking out prices on tender/helper springs.... Whiteline are like $108 PER SPRING are you friggen kidding me? Are the rest of you paying this much for springs that are only there to keep the main spring captive??

Tender springs are pretty damn expensive. I paid $80 a pair for my first pair, and $70 for the second. Eibach and Kings respectively.

Thanks Takai, $80 a pair sounds a lot more reasonable than $200 odd a pair. Will talk to my supplier this afternoon as they can get Kings Springs

Im ALMOST there with this conversion, just need Tender springs, still waiting on brake discs but they are due this week I hear, then i just have to get a camry MC and some brake lines, and put it all together

For tender springs, look at some of the cheap Trade Me/Ebay coilover kits. Some come with keeper springs and for $200 for 4 of them plus excess bits you can sell it could be a cheap alternative.

TAKAI: Supplier quoted $160 a pair for the helper springs, kings springs part number K65S, which are 65mm ID, 70mm free height, 15mm compressed height, 70lbs/in rate.

Where did you get them for only $70 a pair? Where they similar specs to above?

WDE_BDY: Not a bad idea, but couldnt find any on egay....

    "CTS64100-20 100 x 64 x2kg tender coils
    $88.70. Each"

is what I got quoted for whiteline tendersprings.
