if anyone is going to rebuid a pair for calipers i still need specs on the channel seals,

re achining OD down, i dont think you have much to worry about if the blokes do a decent job, i would never get rotors machined by some back ally brake shop anyway

Well I finally got my coilover kit from TechnoToyTuning, for those interested, here's a pic....

I can take any other pics if anyone else is interested in looking at anything in detail. Basically its an alloy threaded sleeve, and they supply a weld ring. The alloy sleeve sits over the weld ring but kind of conceals it, its hard to explain but I can take more pics anyway....

Hey there, well done, these do not look too bad at all. Just a couple of Q's, did they supply a lock nut for the bottom spring perch? Looks like the bottom spring perch is 2 piece, could that be their method of locking the perch to the threaded tube?.
What spring rate did you ask for.

    cheers Chuck.

I knew someone would pop up and ask about the locking nut If you look closely in the photo you will notice there is a bolt in the lower spring retainer. Its an allen key head, so I would say since that's the only one they sent, you tighten the allen key bolt to lock the retainer in place.

And I had no idea what spring rate I wanted when I was enquiring about them, (Im a n00b at this) but I told Gabriel what sort of driving I was going to be doing, so he suggested using 325lbs-350lbs so I opted for the 325lbs when I ordered it.

Yeah they do look pretty good and Im happy with them, considering theyre cheaper than what I found in oz...

    Hi,

    I was quoted:

Coilover Kit: US$199 which approx. = AU$256 (includes springs, alloy sleeve, lower retainer, weld ring)
T3 Camber Tops: US$200 which approx. = AU$258 (includes upper hats which sit on the springs)
Shipping: US$77.20 which approx. = AU$99 (US Airmail Parcel 4-10 days shipping)

There are other shipping options available, thats the one I chose. So you're looking at around AU$355 for coilover kits WITH springs, and around another $250 for the T3 camber tops (I have seen these for around $300 through an Australian supplier). And the cheapest I could find coilover kits in AU was around $250... that's WITHOUT springs!

    Hope that helps.

Brake rebuild kit should be easy to find.. It's Landcruiser that has the 2 different sized pistons, and Hilux has the 4 equal sized pistons.

Just a landcruiser troup carrier brake rebuild kit should get you out of trouble.

325lbs/in is a pretty stiff spring for a street car.. 275lbs/in in the ra28 is just about spot on I think for street/track compromise.

Contact T3 and ask if they have them for the RA40. The TA22 ones will not fit.

    cheers Chuck.

Cuzzo: TA22 strut tops are 100mm between bolt centres in all three directions... does that help?

Just be careful as i have seen a similar setup with the allen key lock on the whiteline grp4s
and they suffer from damaged threads which can stuff your nice new sleeves or the adj. platform threads.
    They do look nice though
