know but that the rca will have to drop the control arm to below the disc .... that might get thick.

where ya at ? maybe different knuckle can fit and fix. ???

im on the northern beaches, possibly a different knuckle, i was thinking rcas because all the other setups ive seen have rcas installed. but i think your right its not going to help me out. negative camber rcas would but.

yeah just seems its more about camber than height.

maybe the sigma control arms thingy? tilt that disc away etc ...

maybe try loading the suspension up ? but then if you get air you dont want the LCA hitting the disc .....

from what i can see it seems the strut base needs to go out further to angle away from the LCA.

Prob not the best solution .. best to wait till people are awake for a better answer LOL

Ive just gotten home from Aussie Auto and am a little perplexed as to why people are having trouble getting the DBA272 rotors. They made a phone call and said I can get vented AND SLOTTED rotors for $140 each Or I can get the RDA version (non slotted) for $60 each.

So I dare say I'll be opting for the slotted DBA option and ordering them next week....

"Aussie Auto" probably just looked in thier catalog to see if DBA list them (which they do in normal and slotted).
That doesnt mean DBA actually have any in stock or plan to make them though.
This is the problem everyone has had... DBA dont make the rotors in the slotted variety very often (if ever).

I bought plain DBA272 rotors and had them slotted somewhere else.

I just fitted up a set of S4 RX7 hawk pads to my landcruser calipers (two different piston size) no worries at all, no need to cut them down, just straight in. There is plenty of room from the end of the pad to the hub also.

I was told that they only slot rotors that are for race cars, if they dont do sloted normaly that is. I dont know if you speak to 10 different people you get 10 different answers.

Sounds good. As i said earlier i didnt really investigate what it was fouling on at the time. i was at the track with borrowed RB74 pads from Sharpie. Could have just had them around the wrong way and not noticed. RaceBrakes make their pads with really small squeal/low pad depth indicators.

Hey, only just saw this response. I was at the counter at the time when I enquired about them, and the guy made a phonecall to their supplier's warehouse, who confirmed to the guy at aussie auto they had them on the shelf, all while I was in earshot of the conversation. So it does seem that I can get them, but I dont think it was DBA they spoke to, someone like an intermediate supplier? Maybe they are old items that have been sitting there a while since DBA stopped making them and no one has bought them yet? Anyway, I'll know for sure when I go pick them up, hopefully Thursday after work.

I had a question however about slotted rotors. Read on a thread on the old forums that once the rotors are slotted, you SHOULDNT machine the outer diameter of the disc down, as it can increase the likelihood of cracking around the slots??? Ive already ordered the slotted rotors But if its going to be a problem, could someone please enlighten me? Dont want to be spending $$$ on discs just to crack them

Last question (for now) - I have these callipers on the RIGHT in the photo below. I need to order calliper rebuild kits and brake pads. Does anyone know the part number for them, or tell me EXACTLY which model hilux/landie the come from? I know Takai has mentioned brake pads that will fit... I just dont want to look like an idiot when I go order the stuff...

    Thanks guys!

In the past i have had rotors which have been slotted right to the edge (GT4 discs machined down) with no adverse effects. They were running for over 2 years with me, and for another year and a bit with the new owner sofar.
I would say you would be fine.

As for the rebuild kit, im not sure. But the book which my Repco guy had had it in there, so maybe you could check with them.

I know with my calipers (two different piston size) my brake guy found it hard getting a rebuild kit for them. ill get onto him and see if can remember the part number.
