When you say a slightly modifed S4 pad in which way do you mean, ie what do you have to change to get them to fit.

When i tried fitting Sharpies spare pads at the Supertrucks round they were just slightly too tall, and were fouling on something down towards the hub. I suspect that the backing plate for the pad needs to be ground down by 2-3mm or so.

Ill be checking this one for certain when i put those calipers on Ahrensys car.

Which calipers? The differentially sized piston ones (early model) or the same size piston ones?

im guessing the control arm is shorter .... you need more camber me thinks

    or a RCA.

how far in from the outside of the disc is it hitting? get some pics..

Yeah, i had mine setup pre-RCAs once upon a time. From memory the tip of the LCA actually sat inside the disc hat.

takai, would be able to show a picture of the correct calipers to avoid being ripped off by the wreckers. If its shown in that first pic, which is which. I'd prefer the caliper which takes the nissan pads so long as the only issue with using that is the lack of diameter clearance since I'll be running 16-17s.

if its just that bulge in the shield .. belt / cut it out.

i had issues with the actual disc scraping on the shield. few taps
    and all was clear.

if its the actual end of the LCA maybe slot the shield to clear the arm?
