That hilux clip thingy you can get away with not using, mine only had one, didn't end up using it, no issues so far

Thanks guys. Managed to get the clips from Toyota.

For my caliper I checked Toyodiy and it confirmed the M shaped spring shown above. RX7 also uses similar springs.

Seems to do the trick, no more rattles and clangs.

Some callipers also use the sheet metal type Gold28 is talking about - depends on the caliper really.

    Thanks again for the advice!

Hey guys just a quick question for those of you who have used coilovers

Just wondering what height I should mount this sleeve?
Not planning on slamming it to the ground but would like the rings somewhere near center of the sleeve -
Using KWB-AGX shocks with the strut shortened 45mm.

    Ie high/low/middle?

I mounted mine to the spring perch area where the original spring was, seems to give good clearance and drive ability

The way I did mine on the TA22 was put the weight of the front of the car on the springs and figure out what their compressed height is. I just dropped the crossmember on the springs and measured the compressed height with a ruler. Just be careful and chock the back wheels so the car won't move around whilst unsupported at the front. If you are using keeper springs then these will fully compress under load so you can just add up the keeper spring coil thicknesses then add to the main coil compressed height.

Then you need to figure out where to put the lower platform. the way I did it was fit the strut to the car with wheel fitted but without spring. Support the front of the car with stands and jack the wheel up to the height you think you want. Measure the compressed spring height down from the top spring perch and mark on the strut.

Remember there is a stack up of the lower perch and the two nuts so the threaded tube will need to be centred a bit lower than where you measured it.

Best of luck and take care when measuring the spring compressed height.

Finally got to the end of this... Did the brake conversion on my rt104, worked like a charm (I'd like to suggest a die grinder and 6.25mm burr, had the holes in the rotors elongated in under 5 minutes)
For anyone asking about st141 struts with the pug conversion: It will not work the bolt spacing on the xT14x struts is 100mm and the hilux caliper is 90mm not to mention the xT13x caliper mount holes ate threaded - use the R33/BA brake upgrade
When using cusco camber plates with coilovers and t3 needle bearing spring perches as i did in my ke30 you will need a spacer to sit between the spring perch and camber top. I used washers initially to get the sizing right and then got a piar of these made

how'd you go getting the rotors on? the hilux calipers bolt right on if the current calipers are the twin piston sumitomo's.
Im thinking ill get ms65 hubs apparently they will fit.

Rotors bolted on sweet with the mentioned elongating of holes.
If your gonna use the crown hubs the rotors need to be redrilled to 5x100 They definately will fit though, my rotors were on ms65 hubs but using them on the other car with the BA/R33 combo
and of course the O.D. machined down a little on the pug rotors and some very minor dust shield mods but then it will all just bolt together
if you want some pics pm me your email and ill send them over

    Cheers,

I did some research and the ms65 hubs can be used with the hilux calipers just need ford transit rotors which are cheap and plentiful (150 for a slotted and dimpled set delivered)
the hubs themselves seem to be a challenge.

on another note does anyone know where I can get ultrasonic cleaning fluid? I slavaged an old ultrasonic bath from the local vet and it works perfectly just don't have the cleaning solution otherwise id be getting my calipers cleaned.

Depends if the rotors are being bolted to the rear or being slipped over the front.

I am about to do this, what is the recommended height to weld the sleave on with SW20 shocks?

    Thanks in advance
